C4 Images and Safaris is the inspiration of two award winning wildlife photographers, André Cloete and Shem Compion.
Both are photographers with an inherent love for nature and the outdoors. Their dedication to wildlife photography led to them putting their career ambitions on hold and heading on a 7-month photographic trip into Africa. It was during this trip, that the seeds for C4 Images and Safaris were sown. Friends kept saying, "You should share your knowledge of wildlife and photography with others, so that they can experience these places..." And that is exactly what they did. Since those travelling days, C4 Images and Safaris has established itself as the largest specialist photographic tour operations in South Africa.
 
Background André and Shem have both spent many years exploring, photographing and travelling throughout Southern and east Africa.This background led to the formation of C4 Images and Safaris in 2004. Using their extensive academic knowledge of African nature and travel, wildlife reserves, lodges, tour operators and the small wildlife secrets that Africa holds, they compile the best itineraries and tours for nature and wildlife photographers.
We currently operate in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia and Madagascar, and Japan.
Over the last few years, we have established our selves as the primary photographic tour operator in southern Africa. We pride ourselves on providing a specialised, personal service to all our clients. We aren't a profit driven organisation. We would rather have our clients returning with us for many years- ensuring we all have the pleasure of seeing the many wonders of Africa's wildlife. The fact that most of our clients prefer customised tours, of whom 75% are repeat clients, gives an indication of service we provide.

The amount of time we have spent traveling in Africa is of direct benefit to you. We know and understand travel in Africa and understand which areas produce seasonally optimal wildlife viewing. This is very important, as you wouldn't want to be in the Masai Mara during the long rains...
We also understand the demands of a photographic safari. We have thus built up relationships with a number of lodges and operators who can ensure our needs are met. You will be ensured of Private vehicles, low numbers of photographers (if on a scheduled safari) on vehicles, driving off road and the ability to stay at sightings as long as you like. These are the personal touches that we strive for on your safari; ensuring you have the best photographic opportunities out.
I invite you to either select a photo safari from one of our scheduled itineraries or approach us with an idea of an area you would like to visit or an animal you would like to photograph. We will happily design a custom safari to suit your budget and your time constraints so that you can make that photographic dream a reality of excellent images.
 
Currently we run three operations:
1. Photographic safaris and tours- scheduled and custom tours to specific locations
2. Photographic workshops - 3/4/5nights of photography at an excellent wildlife location, with tutoring and lectures to improve your photography significantly
3. Photography courses- One day courses on how to improve your photography and increase your creativity
